Dissolve: Issue 3 Launch Celebration
“Revealing Touch: Conversations on Haptics and Art”

Dissolve was delighted to celebrate its third issue which examined haptics, or touch, as it is experienced, overlooked, displaced, and reimagined through the artworks and articles of nine recent contributors. The event was attended by a lovely audience and featured an informal conversation with selected contributors Joseph Dwyer, Izidora Leber, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Alice Combs, moderated by Christopher Squier, along with Kathryn Barulich, Julian Wong-Nelson, and Jackie Valle of the Dissolve collective. The discussion “Revealing Touch” critically engaged with issues of touch and politics, touch and nationalism, and the denial of touch and its role in eroding/expanding boundaries.

"Revealing Touch: Conversations on Haptics and Arts" was made possible by the support of San Francisco Art Institute Exhibitions and Public Programs Department and the Walter and McBean Galleries' current exhibition, A Living Thing.
